Join the South West Wales Best Practice Club for an exclusive breakfast briefing and gain early insight into one of the region’s most significant development programmes. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from those leading the Swansea Project, explore the potential opportunities for local businesses and the wider supply chain, and network with industry leaders and key stakeholders helping to shape the future of Swansea and the surrounding region
The Swansea Project is a major regeneration and clean energy programme designed around the city’s natural strengths, industrial heritage, and future growth. Bringing together tidal power, floating solar, battery manufacturing and storage, green transport infrastructure, data infrastructure, research and skills, the project aims to create long-term economic value for the region while supporting Wales’ transition to a low-carbon future. It is also designed to create long-term jobs directly through the project and the industries it will help power, while supporting supply chain opportunities that can fuel wider economic growth across the region.
This breakfast meet and greet will provide local businesses with an early overview of the project vision, current progress and emerging delivery pathway. The session will focus on the scale of opportunity for the regional supply chain, including marine works, civil engineering, energy systems, transport infrastructure, advanced manufacturing facilities, enabling works and supporting services.
Attendees will hear how the Swansea Project is developing, where construction and infrastructure partners may be able to contribute, and how local businesses can engage early as plans progress. The event will also provide an opportunity for open discussion around the role Swansea’s construction and infrastructure sector can play in helping to deliver one of Wales’ most ambitious regeneration programmes and share in the long-term economic value it is designed to create.
We are delighted to welcome Dr Stephen Hughes, CTO of Batri Ltd, as our keynote speaker, who will share the vision, progress and future direction of the Swansea Project. The session will also be attended by Cllr Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council and Martin Nicholls Chief Executive of Swansea Council providing attendees with the opportunity to hear directly from key figures driving this transformational programme and to engage in discussion about the opportunities ahead.
