Kier welcomed 12 students from Bishopston Comprehensive School for a hands‑on work experience week delivered in partnership with AtkinsRéalis, Gower College Swansea, Careers Wales and City & County of Swansea. The programme gave students practical insight into careers across construction, engineering and the built environment.
Students met Dewi Wood, Graduate QS, who shared his career journey and led an interactive activity focused on communication, maths and problem‑solving. They ended the day with Richard Bunn giving them a site tour of the Gower College Extension.
The group visited several Gower College Swansea campuses and took part in a careers taster session, exploring the wide range of post‑16 academic and vocational pathways.
Hosted by Abigail Davis, AtkinsRéalis’ lead an engineering problem‑solving challenge. The Emerging Talent Team also shared insight into apprenticeships, graduate schemes and trainee roles.
At the Gower College site, Mitie delivered engaging plumbing and electrical activities before students joined Dylan Jones, Assistant Site Manager, for a final site visit linking their learning to real construction environments.
