With a busy programme of events taking shape for the remainder of 2026, G4C Wales is continuing to build an exciting calendar of networking, professional development, fundraising and industry engagement opportunities for members.
Summer Social
Preparations are underway for this year’s Summer Social, taking place on 27th August. A number of exciting venue options are currently being considered, with final arrangements and invitations set to be confirmed shortly. The event promises to be another great opportunity for members to connect in a relaxed and informal setting.
G4C Awards
Planning for the G4C Wales Awards is underway, with award submissions closing on 21st August and we encourage all our members to submit nominations that recognise the outstanding achievements of young professionals and organisations across the industry.
Procurement Act Round Table
The Procurement Act Round Table will take place on 6th August, bringing together industry professionals to discuss the impact of the new legislation. Attendance is growing steadily, with discussion topics and final event arrangements being completed ahead of the session.
National Climate Emergency Briefing
Plans are being explored for a private screening event to support discussions around the National Climate Emergency. The committee is investigating cinema venue options to create an engaging and accessible event for members and industry colleagues.
Looking Ahead to Autumn
September
Work continues on a Planning Bitesize Event, with collaboration opportunities being explored alongside industry partners and professional networks. Further details will be shared as plans develop. September will also see the G4C Awards judging process. The committee is also planning to take part in the Beat the Trails fundraiser in support of Marie Curie, encouraging participants to raise sponsorship while taking on either the 11km or 21km route.
October
A collaborative Heritage Event is currently being developed with partner organisations, with venue options and the event format under consideration.
Planning is also progressing for the G4C Wales Awards Ceremony, with several prestigious venue options and sponsorship opportunities being explored. To encourage wider recognition across the industry, previous winners will not be eligible to enter the same award category again, helping to showcase an even broader range of achievements.
November
Plans are underway for a Leadership Talk, offering members the opportunity to hear from an inspiring industry leader.
The ever-popular G4C Quiz Night is also set to return, with fundraising at the heart of the event. New ideas are being explored to maximise charitable contributions while delivering another enjoyable evening of networking.
December
The year will conclude with two festive initiatives. G4C Wales is planning to participate in the Cardiff Santa Dash, while also exploring sponsorship opportunities to support the event. Alongside this, a Present Wrapping Initiative is being investigated in partnership with a local organisation, providing another opportunity for members to give back to the community during the festive season.
As plans continue to develop, members can look forward to a varied programme of events that reflects G4C Wales’ commitment to professional development, collaboration, community engagement and celebrating the achievements of the next generation of construction professionals.
