Wynne Construction named as one of Wales’ fastest growing businesses
Wynne Construction has been named one of the 50 fastest growing businesses in Wales. Listed at number 22, the company has experienced an increase in turnover of more than 250 per cent in the last two years and welcomed new clients in sectors including healthcare, retail, leisure, commercial, and education.
Currently Wynne Construction is working on multi-million-pound schemes including Sunnyside Wellness Village in Bridgend for Linc Cymru, a centre for vulnerable adults in Pontllanfraith for Caerphilly County Borough Council, the Enterprise, Engineering, and Optics Centre (EEOC) for Wrexham University and a new leisure centre for Newport City Council.
Crucially, Wynne Construction, which was one of just five organisations based in North Wales to make the list, is not resting on its laurels and has a firm eye on the future.
Managing director Chris Wynne said: “It’s brilliant to be named amongst the fastest growing companies in the UK, and it is testament to the entire team’s hard work and dedication.
“Our vision has always been about achieving sustainable growth to ensure long-term success for Wynne Construction, our employees, and the supply chain.
“This approach has been key to help us win new contracts, attract and retain the best skills and talent, and develop an enviable reputation in the industry.
“Our focus continues to be on delivering high quality new build and redevelopment schemes, offering exciting career opportunities, engaging a supply chain local to each project, and carrying out invaluable social value activities linked to each site.”
Wynne Construction was named 22nd on the Wales list by the UK Fast Growth Index for 2024, the programme which identifies the fastest-growing companies in seven regions and nations in the UK.
As one of the 350 firms identified, Wynne Construction contributed to the 2024 UK Fast Growth Index’s collective turnover increase of £9.6billion between 2021 and 2023 and the creation of 24,000 new jobs in two years.
Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, founder UK Fast Growth Index, said:
“The UK Fast Growth Index demonstrates how a small number of fast-growing firms such as Wynne Construction can make a substantial contribution to the UK’s economic landscape, providing real examples of how innovation, enterprise, and sheer hard work can make a real difference in all sectors from construction to financial services to technology.
“This small group of businesses that grow quickly continue to play a significant role in driving economic growth.
“They create jobs and contribute to the economic development of the communities in which they are based.
“By highlighting the success of these companies across a range of sectors, the UK Fast Growth Index emphasises the importance of supporting and nurturing the private sector in every nation and region of the UK.”
