Siderise’s international expansion recognised at the Insider Media Made in Wales Awards

In October, Siderise was proud to take home the trophy for the Export Award at the Insider Media Made in Wales Awards— recognising its efforts to grow its global activities and champion Welsh manufacturing on the global stage.

Based in Maesteg since 1991, Siderise Insulation is a global expert in the design, manufacture, and supply of high-performance passive fire protection solutions which are installed within the building façade to prevent the spread of fire, protecting both people and property. Winning the Export Award stands as testament to the success of the business’ determination to deliver robust passive fire protection across the globe.

In addition to existing offices in Wales, Dubai, Mumbai and Singapore, it has created new bases to deliver more tailored, regional support and business development. It opened a dedicated office in Switzerland in 2023 and created new, senior commercial positions in USA and Asia Pacific. This will not only strengthen its reliable supply of high-quality and robustly-tested products, but allows Siderise technical teams to work closely with architects, contractors, fire engineers and other construction industry professionals around the world to ensure the highest levels of fire safety on their projects.

As Richard Vidler, Chief Commercial Officer explains:

“Our mission is ‘Go Beyond, contributing to safer buildings.’  This means that we are not only looking to manufacture high-quality, independently tested products, but also live our value of ‘integrity in all we do’. We are committed to standing by the side of customers, wherever they are in the world. We have invested in developing technical support processes for all regions— including design support, CPD and training, and installation inspections— supporting these with digital tools such as our Inspection App and Specification Packs.”

The company also shares its global expertise and experience by participating in key technical committees, trade bodies, associations and events as well as collaborating with other manufacturers, contractors and testing houses to find new approaches. It has also been asked to provide technical guidance to governments and authorities in a number of regions, helping the global built environment become a safer place. For example, Siderise has been involved with initiatives like ‘Wales in India’— a year-long partnership between the countries’ governments to develop business opportunities.
