Siderise hosting industry roundtable on building safety act at Maesteg Innovation Centre

On 8th June, passive fire protection experts, Siderise, will welcome local leaders and businesses to its new Innovation Centre. The panel will explore the challenges and opportunities presented to Welsh construction businesses by the Building Safety Act.

Organised by Constructing Excellence in Wales, the event will kick off with a roundtable discussion facilitated by Tony Norris, who is a National Infrastructure and Construction expert and Partner at the law firm, Geldards. In addition, Tony is also the Chair of the SE Best Practice Club, with a keen focus on how companies can collaborate to ensure compliance with the Act’s requirements and promotion of best practice across the industry.

This will then be followed by a short presentation by Siderise CEO, Adam Turk on the company’s perspective on the ever-evolving fire testing landscape and why it has invested over £1m to create its cutting-edge Innovation Centre which was officially opened by the Welsh First Minister earlier this year. This will include a live fire test demonstration using the facility’s specialist furnace and equipment, with clear explanations of the process and measurement points. The live test outputs can then be observed over lunch on the viewing gallery.

It is set to be an interesting and informative event, demonstrating the important part Welsh businesses are playing in the creation of safer buildings across the UK and beyond.
