The Haverfordwest Public Transport Interchange starts on site

Construction has officially begun on the new Haverfordwest Public Transport Interchange, a significant development aiming to transform the town’s transportation infrastructure.

This modern, innovative transport hub will bring together multiple modes of transport, providing a streamlined experience for commuters and travellers alike.

Designs include improvements to pedestrian and cycle facilities through the site, a more efficient and integrated bus station and construction of a new modern multi-storey.

Working with Pembrokeshire County Councils Future Works Scheme, we have created several job opportunities for four local people.

Kier work in partnership with the Onsite Construction Academy in Cardiff

Work has now begun at the Llanrumney School project, which is one of two SEN Court schools in Cardiff.

Working collaboratively with Cardiff Council's Onsite Construction Academy, a program dedicated to supporting job seekers, career changers, and those returning to the industry. Through this collaboration, we have successfully recruited a labour who is local to the area to support the site project team.

We’re pleased to offer this opportunity for the individual to develop their skills and knowledge in the construction industry and look forward to seeing them thrive as part of our team.

Gower College Turf Cutting Ceremony – Kier Construction

Kier recently celebrated a major milestone in the redevelopment of Gower College’s, Gorseinon campus with a ceremonial turf-cutting event. This significant occasion marks the start of an extensive redevelopment project, symbolizing a substantial investment in the college’s teaching and learning facilities.

Vikki Howells MS, Minister for Further and Higher Education, attended the ground-breaking ceremony to show her support for this transformative initiative. The Minister was joined by the College’s Principal Kelly Fountain, Chief Executive Officer Mark Jones, and Chair of Governors Meirion Howells, in celebrating the start of this exciting project.

When completed, the redevelopment will include:

•            A new entrance area, designed to enhance both aesthetics and accessibility, this welcoming, state-of-the-art space will benefit both students and staff.

•            Additional classrooms and student social spaces, which will enrich the learner and enhance their experience, providing inspirational spaces for them to learn and collaborate.

•            Improved traffic flow system, designed to reduce congestion and increase safety across the campus.

The project is expected to be completed in April 2026 and it will also be a key step in the Colleges’ commitment to achieving net zero carbon in line with Welsh Government standards.

Ysgol Crug Glas & Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn Recycling session

On November 15th, we were delighted to support an engaging recycling session with Ysgol Crug Glas and Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn, in partnership with our supply chain partner Gavin Griffiths Group and Careers Wales.

This event provided students with a valuable hands-on learning experience, teaching them the journey of waste and the importance of sorting and recycling.

Gareth from Gavin Griffiths Group shared his expertise, explaining the company’s work and the significance of effective waste management.

The interactive session not only educated but also inspired the children to consider their role in creating a sustainable future.
