The call for entries has gone out for the 2018 CEW Awards and now is the time to begin preparing your entry. Are you going to be a winner in 2018?
It is the twelfth year of the Constructing Excellence in Wales awards. But it is no time to rest on your laurels. Deadline for entries is Monday 26th February 2018, that gives you approximately six working weeks to work out how you will be making sure you stand out and be a winner!
Our awards are regarded across the Welsh construction as the most important celebration of best practice and competition for the CEW Awards is always tough because the industry wants to showcase its talent at the premier ceremony. That was proved again at the CE National Awards last November when Welsh CEW Award winners came away with three national category wins.
Every year we receive more entrants and despite the difficult economic climate that has affected the industry in recent years, the standard continues to rise. Your work and your award entries not only help the CEW Awards highlight that best practice works, but it also serves to demonstrate how construction is creating a built environment fit for our future generations.
So, we're challenging the Welsh engineers, designers, builders and everyone else in the supply chain to step up and enter our awards. This year there is an additional category for 'Offsite’. This is becoming increasingly important as the sector seeks to improve its delivery processes and add value. The Young Achiever now has its own separate award ceremony in the spring, but all other categories remain the same and are consistent right across the Constructing Excellence movement. Please remember your supply chain partners too. You may want to consider nominating an SME you have worked with – but this year it is not compulsory.
Each category gives an opportunity for all those involved in the Welsh built environment to demonstrate their achievements and promote the principles of collaborative working and best practice. You can get a flavour of this from the quality of the winning candidates from the 2017 awards. (winners’ brochure)
Submissions should relate to either ongoing work or any project or example of organisational change that was completed in the 12 months prior to 1st January 2018.
