The construction industry faces a raft of challenges in pursuit of sustainability, but the implementation of circular economy principles could play a key role in moving the sector towards net zero.
Hosted by Constructing Excellence in Wales and the Regional Innovation and Regeneration Centre (RIRC) alongside the CEIC team at Cardiff Met, the event, titled ‘The challenges facing the construction sector in supporting the transition to a regional circular economy’, will take place 3pm-5pm on Thursday 23 January at the hospitality suite in the Cardiff School of Management.
Guest speaker Pekka Valkama, who has written the pioneering circular economy construction strategy for Helsinki, will discuss his work in this field, and Mark Bowen, the Managing Director of Andrew Scott Ltd will discuss challenges and opportunities of circularity from the context of a regional construction company.
