Membership is crucial for the CE movement in Wales to continue; It is about actively contributing to the built environment change agenda, specific to Wales; turning anecdotal issues into tangible results and solid action. CEWales represents our members by using your influence and suggested solutions to take the whole sector forward. Being a part of CEWales allows us to move forward together as well as opening doors because of shared values and objectives.

We have now spent a year embedding the more formalised relationship we have with Welsh Government, the official conduit between the sector and Welsh Government, where we have been providing Welsh Ministers with specialist construction advice, real time market intelligence and a research capability. This relationship has improved the quality of engagement between government and the sector at a time when the economy is experiencing challenging times. We have relied on our members to be the source of informing policy recommendations, monthly intelligence reports which have be sent internally throughout Welsh Government, reaching all departments. We have hosted the sector insight reports on our website to demonstrate what we hear from you is being listened to and acted upon.

CEWales is drafting a Construction Policy statement on behalf and with Welsh Government, we have produced a report reviewing the effectiveness of PBA’s, drafted a Construction Digital Action Plan for Wales, created a new model to help change the thinking, and therefore behaviours, governing the commissioning and procurement of new social housing across Wales, to help reach the Government target to build the 20,000 new social homes. We continue to showcase the very best we have in Welsh Construction through our awards which is taking place on 20th June. We have held meetings for our members to inform our strategic agenda and gain insight on what you want us to focus on.

You can also become involved in our best practice clubs, G4C, Industry Group Forum feeding directly into the Welsh Government Ministerial Construction Forum and our established and respected Procurement steering group. We market what you do through our members only section on our website, through our events and seminar programme. We delivered two Summits in 2024, another two are planned in 2025, one in South Wales on 8th May and  North Wales 18th September, with commitment from the Cabinet Secretary speaking at the events. Our Senedd event will take place in December as well as the G4C awards.

All of this can be found within our Annual Report HERE.

So please continue to support us, share your thoughts with us; your anecdotal views, suggested industry recommendations, how we can turn issues into action and your opinions all really matter!

We thank you for playing a positive role in improving construction processes in Wales and look forward to working with you throughout 2025 and into 2026.
