CEWales' Members Meeting

It is always such a pleasure to hear first-hand and engage with CEWales’ members. Thank you to all our supporters who attended our members meeting last month and gave your insight, ideas and suggestions. It was a great opportunity to share a collective mission to enable and drive positive change in Welsh construction.

We gave an update on what we have achieved to date and what we have on the horizon to realise the intentions of our ambition. We spoke about CEWales’ strategic plans and outcomes and how we have provided value with our partners in Local Authorities, Welsh Government, industry and CEWales members. As CEWales has now formalised becoming an official conduit between industry and Welsh Government it was a proud moment to share a clip from Welsh Parliaments’ Local Government and Housing Committee about our contractual agreement.

We also gave a presentation on our Exemplar Programme and the UNNOS review we are undertaking on behalf of Welsh Government. This piece of work is looking at challenging the thinking and behaviours, governing the commissioning and procurement of social housing across Wales. Considering the thinking behind customary embedded behaviours, Including encouraging more contractors and subcontractors into the sector. CEWales is producing a set of practical suggestions to improve delivery of new social housing in Wales. So, if you have not done so already, please do get involved.

Please do encourage others to join our movement, become a CEWales member and get involved!
