CEWales E Bulletin May 24

We have been busy organising the CEW Awards 2024, with over two weeks of judging, 58 shortlisted submissions within 14 categories. Congratulations to all those shortlisted and a big thank you to our judges!

A very big thank you also goes to our confirmed sponsors; without you we would not be able to hold the awards!

The CEW Awards are a platform to share success and the great things happening within our sector. This is YOUR opportunity to celebrate YOUR excellence! We received so many outstanding entries this year, thank you, we know how much work it takes to enter the awards. The CEW awards are the big show piece for our Welsh Built Environment Sector in Wales. The event celebrates your schemes of work and people who all contribute to driving the change agenda. They are a clear demonstration of the core strength of construction in Wales and the desire and commitment to deliver buildings, roads, bridges, and facilities of all kinds in a collaborative and sustainable manner. We do not just give credit to the projects without acknowledging the exemplar people involved!

What makes CEW and our awards so special is that we are the only organisation tasked with representing the entire built environment supply chain, every aspect and element of the construction sector in Wales. There were over 400 people at our awards dinner last year and we very much hope to beat that figure this year. So please do get involved and book your place, as every profession within the Welsh built environment will be under one roof.

The CEW awards showcase the multidisciplinary and complex projects we have in Wales, teams and professions who did not work in silos but delivered through collaboration, ultimately leading to better value. They have used whole systems approaches and worked together, collectively tackling the complex challenges that confronts us in the construction industry; like climate action, delivering value, digital transformation, ESG, our next generation, innovation, regeneration and retrofit. All of which those shortlisted, demonstrate through the CEW Awards. Join us to witness who will be the winners of the CEW 2024 awards and who will go through to the Constructing Excellence National Awards in London. We are right behind you, good luck!

The 2024 awards ceremony is taking place on Friday 14th June at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport.

We are also delighted to bring you the first North Wales Construction Summit in partnership with Welsh Government. We are privileged to have not one BUT two Cabinet Secretary’s speaking and taking your questions! So, book your place and get involved with this great opportunity.

The summit will explore the opportunities and challenges for Wales in the forthcoming years and to allow an in-depth exploration of the Welsh Built Environment’s position within the Economic Mission. This is an opportunity for you to let Cabinet Secretaries and Welsh Government officials know your views and perspectives on the impact of the rapidly changing economic environment. It will also allow you to feed into our future thinking on and what the opportunities, risk factors and solutions are for the Welsh construction sector.
