CEW Awards – will you be a winner?
Despite the worries about the virus and concerns around work, the commitment to celebrate and showcase best practice continues and the CEW Awards are most definitely on! Susan Selkirk gives an update
It’s a celebration! In times of adversity we see the best of people and we see the best of our industry. We saw that in the response to the construction and management of the field hospitals and in every award judging session we have held we see it again and again. The response and entries to our CEW Awards 2020 from Welsh construction and particularly the stakeholders within the CEWales movement has been tremendous. Thank you.
By the end of next week, we will have completed all of the judging – so thank you to our judges and the shortlisted entries for making the time and effort to present and answer questions via some lengthy Teams sessions. The standard was incredible.
Our shortlist has been announced and next month we will be confirming how we will conduct the awards themselves. Right now, we are not planning any face to face gatherings. It is not allowed under the guidance in Wales and we doubt many of you will wish to take part – albeit it would be superb if we are able to meet and greet and network like we are all used to.
What we hope to do is set an online awards event and for those we are looking for sponsorship. SEWSACP are our headline sponsor – and we are incredibly grateful for them for making the commitment so early. We are asking for support of £500 per category to cover costs and creation of the awards blocks themselves – always coveted and often placed in prime positions in offices and bookshelves!
