Task Groups
CEWales establish specific Task and Finish Groups comprising key individuals and organisations from across Government and industry.
Periodically the construction industry and built environment in Wales face challenging issues which require a considered and coordinated response. To deal with these issues CEWales will establish specific Task and Finish Groups comprising key individuals and organisations from across Government and industry.
In recent years Task Groups have been established to address the introduction of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Wales and Major Project Delivery in Wales.
CEWales have also supported the development of a Construction Procurement Strategy for Wales lead by the Value Wales Procurement Steering Group which was established by the Minister for Finance, Jane Hutt, in response to the 2010 CEWales report "No Turning Back". Further information on these Task Groups can be sourced by following the appropriate links.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) Task Group
This Task group was established in 2012 to develop an approach to BIM in Wales. The report's findings were presented to the Welsh Government in the same year.

Construction Procurement Strategy Steering Group
This Steering Group, although not strictly a CEWales Task Group, was established as a response to the CEWales 2010 "No Turning Back" report. The implementation of the strategy is currently underway and will form an important part of CEWales workstream for the next 2 years.

The Wales Construction Procurement Strategy will be uploaded as soon as it is formally launched by the Minister for Finance, Jane Hutt. We expect it to be launched in May.
Major Project Delivery Task Group
This Task Group has just been established to gather the views of industry leaders on Wales' Infrastructure needs for the future. It is intended to support the Wales Infrastructure Investment Plan (WIIP) and current work being undertaken by CEWales on establishing greater visibility of a forward programme or "pipeline" of work in the local government sector.
The first meeting of the Group took place in May 2013. Meeting notes and the Group's Terms of reference will be published on this site by late May 2013.
