Infrastructure and the Political Environment in Wales, UK and beyond
In an ever-changing global environment the focus on prosperity and wellbeing for the whole of Wales has, arguably, never been greater. But to achieve this we need to put in place infrastructure that's fit for the 21st Century - and the list of major projects planned for construction seems to be growing by the day! However, whether we like it or not, these projects all need political will and "buy in" to progress. That's why all of us involved in the planning and delivery of infrastructure programmes need to be conscious, aware and "in tune" with the prevailing political environment – locally, across Wales, the UK and beyond. Given that we have uncertainty at Westminster and the challenge of dealing with Brexit negotiations, if we can't successfully navigate the political tides we'll never deliver the projects needed to grow our economy.
CECA Wales have invited Daran Hill of Positif Politics to provide an overview of the current political environment and its potential impact on infrastructure development in Wales. Daran is the most authoritative public affairs consultant in Wales with considerable experience of the political scene across Wales and the UK and will provide an insight into the current political "mood".
I would be delighted if you could join us at this session to listen to Daran's briefing and contribute to the debate. To reserve your place, please contact Debs Rudall at debs@cecawales.co.uk. The event will be free, however, there will be a charge of £20 for non-attendance to cover the cost of catering.
