-40C (Forty Below Club) How2 Workshop
The Constructing Excellence in Wales Best Practice Clubs are developing a Grass Roots Guide to ‘Obtaining Better Value from Construction’ called the How2 Guide. We want to look at how to get better value (or more bangs per buck) from the various stages of a project or programme from option stage right through to post occupancy. The guide itself will be web based and capable of being updated as new learning becomes available. We will be using the Demonstration Projects to support the arguments in the guide.
The -40C has a vital role to play in the development of the guide. Following an initial workshop with the Club Members, they have started to pull some ideas together. But before going too far they really want to capture your ideas as the emerging generation on this vital topic. To do this, a workshop and discussion is being held on the 23rd June, to which all our young professionals are invited to attend.
The event will last approximately 2 hours, and in addition to providing valuable input, it will also be an opportunity to network with Club representatives and fellow young professionals.
We are expecting that this exercise will complement and feed into the work of the Task Group initiated by Finance Minister, Jane Hutt which is based on the CEW report ‘No Turning Back’, which can be downloaded from procurement-report-oct10.pdf
