Welsh Future Homes Project – Ebbw Vale
CEW, Welsh Assembly Government, BRE Wales and Blaenau Gwent Council are working together to deliver a half day seminar at the Welsh Future Homes project at Ebbw Vale. The project is a unique development of three highly sustainable and affordable houses and a visitor centre built from a range of locally sourced materials, building products and labour that meets the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5/6, and PassivHaus. The project aims to act as a catalyst for the development of a low carbon built environment in Wales and the creation of a ‘greener’ Welsh economy by promoting the take up of indigenous construction products and build systems.
The project is aimed at the construction industry and householders in Wales, as it will act as an education resource for informing the public on how to live in low energy housing. It will also provide inspiration on how to live a greener lifestyle. For the construction industry, it will provide guidance on how to design and construct low energy housing and it will showcase local materials and products.
The event will include an in-depth talk followed by a guided tour of the houses with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. Due to available space, numbers for each of these events is limited to 15 delegates.
