Trawsfynydd Decommissioning Site, Gwynedd – A ‘Final Peer Review’
North Wales Constructing Excellence Club in association with CEW presents:
A ‘Final Peer Review’ for the CEW Demonstration Programme
Come along and hear from the project team about the challenges associated with the Decommissioning of a redundant nuclear power station!
The Trawsfynydd Strategic Integrated Framework has been established as part of the decommissioning of the Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station in Gwynedd. The project requires the design and manufacture of equipment for the retrieval of nuclear wastes, construction of the facilities to enable the retrieval to take place, through to the eventual demolition of the facilities. It is a challenging project, undertaken within a highly regulated industry that is benefiting from high levels of collaborative working.
The project is participating in the Demonstration Programme for Wales, designed to promote Best Practice and innovation in construction through a wide ranging programme of projects and initiatives throughout Wales. As this is the final review for the project, the team will be reflecting on lessons learned during the project and how they will be taking these forward to the next phase.
As part of the presentation you will have opportunities to participate in the discussion and provide your own ‘review’ or assessment of the project via a simple scoring mechanism. This provides a valuable stage in the process of a project becoming a ‘demonstration’.
