Wood Street House became the first building in the UK to be certified under BRE’s new sustainability standard at design stage Home Quality Mark ONE (HQM ONE). The project team not only took pride in the quality of the build, but ensured it was delivered to the highest industry standards. This is exemplified by the performance score of 47 out of 50 from the nationally recognised Considerate Constructors Scheme, underlining that community, environment and workforce were at the forefront of everything we did on site.

The tight city centre location provided a challenging construction process which required industry leading practices to ensure safe delivery. Despite working through the challenges of COVID, the inflation and supply issues caused by Brexit and the Ukraine war. The team maintain programme and finished on time and to budget, which given the external factors is a massive achievement. A testament to the quality of the build has been the ability of the tenant to let over 90% of the development within a year of opening, exceeding their initial expectations.

Three Winning Facts:

1.  Quality of the end product in line with building safety act and golden thread.

2. New levels of sustainability being the first building achieving BRE’s new HQM one standard.

3. Collaborative team approach driving a positive culture to achieve successful delivery.
