September has been another busy month for CEWales, with plenty to celebrate across our network and some fantastic opportunities to come together, share knowledge and showcase the excellent work taking place across the Welsh construction industry.
First and foremost, a huge congratulations to everyone shortlisted for the G4C Wales Awards! It is fantastic to see such a diverse range of talented individuals, projects and organisations recognised for their achievements and contribution to our industry. We are looking forward to celebrating with all of the finalists at what promises to be a fantastic evening at the Temple of Peace in Cardiff this October. You can book your free ticket here Best of luck to everyone shortlisted!
We have also been delighted to see our Best Practice Clubs gathering momentum, providing opportunities for colleagues from across the industry to connect, learn and share best practice.
On a beautiful sunny Thursday afternoon, we brought industry colleagues together for a presentation and site visit at the impressive Channel View regeneration project in Grangetown, hosted by Wates Residential and Cardiff Council. The event also marked the relaunch of the Constructing Excellence in Wales South East Wales Best Practice Club, with our new Chair, Georgia Jenkins, welcoming attendees and sharing the vision for the next chapter of the Club.
Channel View is a fantastic example of collaborative, community-focused regeneration, delivering 354 highly energy-efficient, low-carbon mixed-tenure homes alongside improved public spaces and enhanced community connectivity. Following an informative presentation from members of the project team, attendees had the opportunity to visit the site, see the development first-hand and continue the conversations over some excellent networking.
Meanwhile, in Swansea, we welcomed more than 60 delegates to a breakfast event focused on The Swansea Project: Shaping Swansea’s Future with keynote speaker Dr Stephen Hughes, CTO of Batri Ltd along with Cllr Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council and Martin Nicholls Chief Executive of Swansea Council. Hosted through the South West Wales Best Practice Club, the event provided an opportunity to hear about the exciting developments and ambitions shaping the city, while bringing together colleagues from across the region to share ideas, experiences and perspectives.
As we head into the autumn, we are looking forward to building on this momentum, with more opportunities to connect, collaborate and showcase the excellent work happening across Wales.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our events, Best Practice Clubs and wider programme. We look forward to seeing many more of you over the coming months!
